Born in St. Louis in 1949, Steve was raised in Southern California and received his bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Brigham Young University. He served his country in the United States Navy as a Data Processor on the USS Holland. Since then, he has taught high school Spanish, coached, quit teaching, and sold life insurance. Didn’t do well at that. He worked for years with Frito Lay and Keebler Company as a salesman and manager. He says that selling cookies and potato chips is a lot easier than selling insurance! He finished his career working with a local company, Custom Installation & Design as an office administrator.
After a few years of retirement, Steve jumped back into the workforce and spent five years at the St. George Regional Hospital answering phones. He loved the interaction with the callers, never knowing what they might say, and answering them with the best customer care possible. He was intrigued by the honesty of the owners of American Heritage Homes, having worked with them in various other capacities, and wanted to become a part of that effort. He left the hospital to become part of this
Steve enjoys the “mechanics” of the business. He loves detail and attention to detail, organizing, and seeing the results of his work. He loves problem-solving and overcoming obstacles. That makes him a perfect fit for his administrative role with American Heritage Homes. Steve is married to Frances, his wonderful wife and best friend of 42 years. He has nine children and twenty-five grandchildren. His family means everything to him. He likes to stay active. He likes to run, build things out of wood, and participate in his church. He has been a Washington County resident since 1992 and has lived in Hurricane since 1994.
What he likes best about working for American Heritage Homes is the integrity of the company. Add to that some of the most friendly and caring people he has ever met . . . He couldn’t have picked a better place to work!
